Shortly after moving to Central Florida in 1988, Ken decided to turn his hobby into a DJ business. Over the years, he has invested wisely in scalable professional-grade equipment and a comprehensive music library that is constantly updated to reflect the old and the newest trends in music.

His vast musical knowledge, good technical skills, character, personality, and customer service/project management skills acquired throughout his Information Technology career provide excellent client results. 

Ken is comfortable with all ages, cultures, and music from different generations and genres. He combines customers' general to specific music guidelines with his ability to "read the crowd" to ensure all have a great time. 

Over the years, In The Mix Productions has built a loyal client base of corporations, organizations, and private clients. In addition, Ken has performed professionally at over 700 events.

Ken is also very active at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Oviedo, FL, where he serves as a Deacon. He is also the Executive Director of Compass Finances God's Way Urban Outreach, whose mission is "...create financial disciples through helping individuals and organizations learn and apply God's word on money and possessions and replicate this in the lives of others".

A professional DJ with specific expertise can provide your event with the required entertainment and personal service in support of all of your event activities. An experienced DJ will function as Master Of Ceremonies, sound technician, audience motivator, and on-site coordinator with other event professionals to ensure everyone is on the same page. References should be provided upon request.

As a potential focal point for much of the event, your DJ should be well groomed, personable, articulate, tactful, and wear a constant smile. Remember that the DJ is primarily responsible for getting your guest involved in the fun.  

Your DJ must be available to meet with you and other key event players and vendors to plan the event activities. He should be reached easily by phone to handle last-minute changes. Your DJ should perform a site survey before the event if unfamiliar with the venue. This will prevent day-of-the-event surprises such as unavailable or deficient power sources, poor room layout or traffic flow problems, odd-shaped or multiple rooms, difficult access to the room, and inadequate setup area. 

A good DJ will provide commercial and professional quality equipment. Various equipment configurations should be available to custom-tailor the sound to the location. Depending on the room size and layout, multiple speakers may be required to fill the room. Sound-processing equipment may be necessary to address spaces with poor acoustics. Back-up equipment for critical components is also essential. A wireless microphone should be available to support announcements that the DJ does not handle. Lighting equipment should also be available to enhance the dancing atmosphere.

Until the floor is open for everyone to dance, the volume should be maintained at a level where guests can hold conversations. Then, when it is time to crank up the music, it should be clear and free from distortion.  

Obviously, the DJ should honor all special music requests of the client. The client should also provide general to specific guidelines for the type of music to be played (and not played) at the event. Since many events are a melting pot of ages and cultures, your DJ must provide listening and dance music suitable for all tastes. Your DJ has to "read the crowd" to decide the type of music most popular with the event guests and when to play it.

Quite often, the selection of the DJ is one of the final decisions to be made. This may cause pressure to find the cheapest DJ due to budget constraints. Realistically, selecting a DJ should occur immediately after setting the date and location so that you do not lose the opportunity to book your event with an excellent DJ. You may have heard horror stories of planners that had expensive events ruined by a low-cost or low-quality DJ. In retrospect, they realized that a slightly larger budget increase for a first-class DJ service would have been an insurance policy against all the other money they spent. Saving $200 at the expense of a ruined $5,000+ event is a harsh life lesson to learn. 

But quality entertainment is not cheap. If necessary, you should consider cutting back on the expense of other items, such as decorations and food. Statistics show that in the months and years after your event, entertainment is what your guests will remember most. As a rule, you should never compromise price for quality when securing the services of a DJ.

Ken is the DJ / Emcee and works closely with you and other wedding professionals (wedding coordinator, photographers, videographers, venue coordinator, caterers, etc.) to ensure that everyone is on the same page during your wedding and reception. He also manages the expectations of the bride and groom and guests throughout the event.  

DJ Ken monitors the audience and incorporates games and special activities to keep your guests entertained and on the dance floor. In addition to the specific songs requested by the clients, musical requests from the guests are never a problem. And the music is always played at the appropriate volume.
